Yup! yet another food blog

So why another food blog? Well, here I want to document all my recipes, which are usually adapted versions of family recipes, from friends, from cookbooks and from what I have seen or read online on other people's blog. I can never follow a receipe to the T and always improvize, sometimes it works and sometimes, it backfires.

They say, I am the queen of winging it and a horrible recipe giver, so there, now you wont have to ask me, EVER!

And in doing so I will also get to chronicle my kitchen disasters and victories, every little thing has a kahaani (a story) or some history.

TezTarrar is my working style in the kitchen, always quick and fast, anything that takes a long time or is tedious, is not for me. Chopping, cooking and cleaning are always simultaneous processes for me, multitasking, be the name of the game! TezTarrar, is a hindi word for quick and fast or hot and spicy, and the pun was always intended ;) This TezTarrar doesnt imply anything for my food, but it really is my personality, always some spice and sass. The food I cook is on the milder side, I feel chilli masks all the flavors, so then, what really is the point to adding all these wonderful spices.

My cooking is predominantly Indian (and for those in the know, heavily influenced by the western UP style cooking, flavors and spices) but not always restricted to it. My Bua, dad's older sister, is my food idol, when in doubt call Bua, she can fix pretty much everything.

Andddddd .......... ofcourse, good food and weight issues go hand-in-hand. You know, there are those people with blessed genes, they NEVER gain weight, no matter what they do, whether they work out or eat to no end but, well, I am not a member of that lucky club (Sigh!). I love good food and hence love to cook, good food! With this comes the supplementary issue of weight gain, all I can say is, listen to your body and not to the next fad diet. Each of us is different and what may work for the next person may not for me. As a rule of thumb; by regular working out (doesnt mean you need to be sweating it out at the gym all the time) and by making healthy food choices often, you will lead a happy and healthy life. So here, I will try and impart some of my gyaan and ideas on healthier alternatives, without compromising on the taste, nope, never on taste!

So join me in some TezTarrar, easy breezy home-style khaana.
